We are photography and travel enthusiasts that have fallen in love with Japan

Jim Embury has been traveling to Japan from Australia and New Zealand since 2002.

The trips were for his job at the time but the weekends were spent walking the streets of Tokyo and Yokohama taking in the wonder of Japanese society while shooting as many photographs as possible.

As one of the big five cities of the world (London, New York, Paris, Rome and Tokyo) the attraction was a totally foreign society that had strong ties to the western world, both historically (over the past 125 years) and through economic and business ties.

The draw that Japan and Tokyo had continued and when Jim retired from his first career he started another in taking people to Japan to get incredible photos while showing them how they could survive and thrive with a very limited use of the Japanese language and a smart phone with Google maps and Google translate.

In 2023 the first tour was run out of New Zealand. Building on the success and feedback a second tour was run in 2024. We are running a tour in November 2025.
